Unlike synthetic wigs, human hair wigs can be dyed easily. To dye a wig, the first thing you need to do is to choose a normal hair dye. You can use any hair color available at a drug store. But use hair dye rather than use fabric dye on human hair wigs. Then prepare a 20 volume developer and wear rubber gloves to protect your skin. After that, mix the dye and the developer in a plastic bowl. If the length of your wig is below your shoulders, you may need two boxes of hair dye. Then place the wig in the bowl with the dye with your hands gently scooping the dye over the wig and spread it through the layers of the wig. Be gentle and try not to roughly rub the dye into the wig. Then place the wig on a wig stand and brush the hair gently, which can make the dyed hair more natural. Leave the wig for thirty to forty minutes. Finally, wash the wig with some shampoo and conditioner. Place the wig in warm water to get rid of any excess dye before using shampoo. Rinse out the shampoo when you are done. Avoid using any conditioner near the roots of your wig or else the hair might fall out. After washing with shampoo and conditioner, squeeze the water out with towel and let the wig dry.

Dying a hair wig is not very difficult. But keep in mind that chemicals will cause some damage to the wig. Since the wig is not attached to scalp, so they couldn’t get the oil it should be. They will become brittle after dying and their lifespan will be shortened. So try not to dye your wigs for many times. Take a good care of them as your own hair.
